Name: Chattahoochee Headwaters Clean-Up
Date: August 19, 2017
Time: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM EDT
Event Description:
Come help beautify the banks of the Chattahoochee River and some of its head water tributaries in the Chattahoochee Wildlife Management Area just north of Helen. This is a land clean up on Forest Rd. 44 (also known as Poplar Stump Rd.) which travels along the Chattahoochee and some of its tributaries. We will meet north of Helen at 9:30 am. Help clean numerous spots along the way to finish with a picnic lunch (bring your own) at the Upper Chattahoochee Campground next to the river. After lunch you may want to take a hike up to Horse Trough Falls located in the campground. This is an easy .3 mile hike to a beautiful 55-foot tall waterfall. Cool River Tubing in Helen has also offered a complimentary Zip Line or tubing that day for any of our volunteers afterwards!
